I learnt the changes that happens in the beginning of the preparation of the coming of Jesus and what changes in nature and in the church. 

Advent Season

 LEARN :  WE LEARN ABOUT THE SIGN IN NATURE AS PART OF OUR LEARNING ABOUT ADVENT. 

I was learning Advent and the changes in nature, including the four seasons that happens every year. The seasons in a year links to the liturgical calendar, it is a calendar in the church that represents the seasons we celebrate in the church.

Topic 9: Vertebrate and Invertebrate

Today we did activities to tell which animals that were vertebrate and invertebrate. I chose to do similarities and differences because it gave me a better understanding of the invertebrate and invertebrate.

Vertebrate is animals with a backbone inside of there body and invertebrate are the animals with no backbone like jellyfish as you can see in the DLO I have made and the vertebrate is a horse which is a mammal so all mammals have backbones.

I learnt what habitats of the vertebrate and the invertebrate animals.  

Topic 2 Laboratory Exploration

Hey everyone,

Today's tasks was Laboratory Exploration.

My second week in Science was great I learnt the equipment's that scientist use to discover and look into deep information about something. There are 20 equipment's above in the table I made that I myself and the students that is in my Science group is going to use in person. I learnt what are these equipment's used for, learn more below.

Uses of the equipment's 

1. An ammeter is a device called is used to measure current.

2. A spring Balance is used to weigh little things or light things.

3. Tongs is used for hot objects 

4. A Magnifying glass magnifies an object to give you a better view of what a little object looks like.

5. A thermometer is used to check the temperature of something e.g the room temperature.

6. Bunsen burner is a type of gas burner which is used as a heat source in laboratory experiments. 

7. Microscope is used to give you a closer view of what micro objects look like.

8. Litmus paper is used to test whether a solution is acidic or basic.

9. Beaker is a reaction container or to hold liquid or solid samples. 

10. A watch glass is for evaporation in chemistry.

11. Water bottles 

12. A crucible is a metal container which metals or other substances may be melted in very high temperatures.

13. Test tubes is used to handle chemicals and used pieces of laboratory ware.

14. Funnels to hep liquids substances into containers with a small opening.

15. A Burette is used to measure the volume of a liquid or a gas. 

16. Weighting machine is used to weigh objects

17. Spatula helps scraping, transferring and applying powders.

18. A Volumetric Flask contain a precise volume at a certain temperature. 

19. A Pipette is used to transfer small quantities of liquid.

20. Brushes is used to clean the equipment after using them.

"In Flanders Fields" is a war poem in the form of a rondeau, written during the First World War 1915 by Canadian physician Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae. He inspired the use of the poppy as a symbol of Remembrance. He wrote this Poem after seeing poppies growing in battle-scarred fields.

Topic 1 Science Introduction

 Learn: To introduce to Science and learn a 

Today in Technology I learnt five interesting facts about science. My new Technology Teacher name is Miss Sharma who teaches Stem and biology. We learnt to introduce ourselves using our creativity of using shapes and fonts.

Did you know that there is enough DNA in the average person's body to stretch from the Sun to Pluto and back 17 times? Well I didn't this fact surprised me the most. 

 I learnt the guidelines of the expectation during online class or in real life classes. Today was just a simple set up for the activities next week.

The Similarities And Differences Between Kanuka And Manuka

Hey everyone,

Last week Friday my group and I shared with our school the similarities and differences between the parts of  Manuka and Kanuka trees. Both Manuka and Kanuka are different species but from the same family although the two trees look very similar and often get confused for one another. These two trees are also medicinal which means part of the trees can be used for medicine, both Manuka and Kanuka are used for the same purposes. 

My classmates had options to choose from a rap, song, movie/animation, presentation and a poster. I chose something different and did a similarities and differences of two trees Manuka and Kanuka.

Today In inquiry I had to match the medical problems and uses cards with the appropriate native plant. 

(e.g. ulcers, sore throats and a germicide would go with the pūriri tree.).  I have the ability to explain and show my understanding of what I know about the native trees of New Zealand.

Learn : To Identify and explore in more depth a New Zealand Native tree. 

We learning about New Zealand's Native trees. This is important because not only does it provide us with food and has the ability to provide us with oxygen for us, we can use it for medicine for family and friends that are in need. Which is also special to us kiwis. 

My group decided to explore and learn more about the characteristics's of the Kanuka tree.

Sand Dunes Diorama

Learn: We are able to work collaboratively to create a diorama of plants in our  environment.

My group St Patrick's created a diorama on sand dunes, using the equipment that was suitable for making our diorama.

Something I could change : 

Always check if my whanau group is doing the right thing at the right time. Help them to participate, get along together and support one another if it's needed, agree to necessary decisions that are made in my whanau group.

My Group St Patrick's whanau made a Graffiti page about Pentecost. This Graffiti page showing our understanding of what we already know about Pentecost so far.  For the background we put a picture of St Patrick's and added words were related to Pentecost and what happened during Pentecost.

Today In Religious Education , 

I used my creativity but using the site storyboard to make an short comic of what happened to Jesus in the story Luke 24:13-35 On The Road to Emmaus.

Box 1 : shows Cleopas & Simon are on the road walking to Emmaus, Upset and wondering where Jesus went.

Box 2 : shows when the stranger "Jesus" appeared to them and said “What are you discussing together as you walk along?” while they we're on their way to Emmaus.

Box 3 : shows when they finally notice it was Jesus that has been walking beside them , through they're journey to Emmaus.

Box 4 : The last box shows the to disciples journeying back to Jerusalem to spread the good news, that Jesus has risen and he's alive !

Today in Technology, I discovered how to light up an mbot using primary colours which are red, blue and yellow. To get to know these colours I had to to find the hexadecimal number codes of the primary colors before I uploaded it to the mbot.

To make this work you will need an mbot, a usb cable and your computer and also by using the site makeblock to start it up.
